Ear Surgery

Otoplasty is a surgical procedure intended to correct ear malformations, the most common being cartilage hypertrophy or "lop ears," i.e., ears that protrude or stick out too far from the head.
This procedure can be performed from an early age, between 4 and 6 years old, when the ears have reached their full development. Correcting these types of abnormalities not only improves aesthetics but also prevents bullying or discrimination in childhood, promoting better self-esteem.

This often causes personality problems that can affect the patient for the rest of his or her life. The physical and psychological results are immediate.

How do I do it?

Although it is a surgery that can be performed with local anesthesia, the age of the patient requires general anesthesia.
The surgical incisions are made behind the ear, so that they are not visible. Thus, and from the first moment, there are no visible marks.

Age:

Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes – 2 hours.
Discharge on the same day, after the anesthetic recovery.

Time of the Operation

Estimated time: 2 – 3 hours.
Discharge on the same day. You will remain in the clinic for a few hours, until you recover from the anesthetic effect.

Postoperative:

- Slight discomfort.
- External dressing, 7 days.
- Stitches, 7 to 15 days.

Results of examples applied to the described technique

- Ears in the correct position and shape from the first day.
- Satisfactory appearance from the second or third week after the operation.
- Improvement progresses over a few months.
