Facial Paralysis Surgery

The face is the mirror of the soul, the public organ with which we interact and relate to others. The complexity of its muscles and functions allow us to transmit emotions, feelings and messages that cannot be communicated with words alone. Facial expression is an inseparable part of communication and is truly the most human of its different facets.

How do I do it?

Reconstruction techniques can be divided into:
Static Techniques: These aim to achieve a suspension of the face as naturally as possible, closing the eyelid or raising the eyebrow, among others. These techniques improve the physical appearance of patients.
Dynamic Techniques: These are aimed at helping patients affected by facial paralysis to move their face again and make them smile.
Nerve grafts or muscle transplants can be used depending on the time of evolution of the paralysis, age and sex.
All of these techniques attempt to restore lost mobility to the face. This is what constitutes dynamic rehabilitation.
In other cases, when due to different circumstances and background it is not possible to perform dynamic rehabilitation, facial static suspension or rehabilitation is performed.
